CQC have rated us Outstanding!

Future Directions are ‘Bucking the National Trend’ by being Outstanding!

We are very pleased to be able to now share that following our most recent CQC inspection we have gained an overall rating of Outstanding! For any organisation, particularly larger organisations, achieving such an accolade is extremely difficult as only 4% of organisations achieve this rating.

Over the last few years, Future Directions has continued to live out its values and continually strives to seek service improvements at all levels to ensure that people we support live fulfilled lives. The report acknowledges that we have a motivated and fully committed workforce that not only understand our values but live them out on a daily basis, thereby ensuring the people we support live great lifestyles.

Here are some quotes from the CQC report;

“Without exception everyone we spoke to was full of praise for the service and its staff.  The services was driven by its fives values - put people first, be transparent, go the extra mile, be creative, be adaptable.  Throughout our observations and discussions with people and staff we saw that the service truly put these values into action”

“Future Directions CIC provided people with an exceptionally personalized service which met their support needs, preferences and wishes and which helped them live full and meaningful lives.”

“Staff went the extra mile and gave examples.  Staff kept the service value to be creative” at the heart of their work.  They continually looked for innovative ways to help have fun and take part in activities that were meaningful and interesting.”

“At the last inspection Well-led was rated as ‘Outstanding’.  At this inspection the rating has remained the same.  This means the leadership was exceptional and distinctive.  Leaders and the service culture they created drove and improved high quality person-centred care.”

“There was a strong emphasis on the five values of the organisation and through talking to staff and people who use the service and our own observations, we found these were lived out in the day-to day- work of the organisation.”

“The service was extremely well-managed.  The organisation was forward-thinking and provided a culture of innovation.”

“The staff were highly motivated and proud to work for an organisation which valued and praised its staff.”

“Staff worked with people to put together a care plan that was extremely person-centered and achieved their desired outcomes.”

Whilst at Future Directions, we are absolutely delighted to gain this Outstanding rating, we also recognize that achieving this standard is one thing, but the drive, innovation and enthusiasm will be continuous in order to maintain our current standards and continually seek ways to further improve them.

We would like to thank all those involved and especially the people we support, for without them we would not be able to provide the care that we do.

Future Directions Managing Director, Paula Braynion said; “This year as part of our focus of ensuring people have great lives, we will be focusing on ensuring people have the opportunity to do more of the things they love and like to do. By living out our values of being creative, adaptable and going the extra mile. I know we can achieve this. We will focus on it more in our next cake and catch up sessions.

This is a fantastic start to the New Year and new decade and it wouldn’t have happened without the commitment, passion and drive from staff to live out our values. We want to build on this and use as a platform to be even better at what we do and ensure people we support have great and outstanding lives!”
