22nd May 2019 |

Thank you to everyone who sent in their Good News Stories for the '£100 Good News Stories Competition' in March and April.

We have had 4 entries. Please read the stories below and vote for your favourite on our Facebook page (click here to go to our Facebook page)

We have stories about bingo, volunteering, birthdays and newsletters.

The winner wins a £100 Love2shop voucher to spend on their next activity.

1. Bingo!

David and his staff team organised bingo for all to benefit from at Stanley Grange. The aim of the bingo night is to bring the Stanley Grange community together and enable David to become more involved in activities on site.

David and his staff team went the extra mile and organised this event, even coming in on their days off to ensure this activity becomes a success.

Please come along and support David and his great bingo evening every Tuesday 6.30pm – 8pm at Stanley Grange.

2. Happy Birthday Film

Manchester and Stockport are on a mission to combat loneliness. They have been very creative and gone the extra mile by creating a ‘Happy Birthday’ film to be shared with all of the people we support on their birthday. The aim of the film is to ensure that people feel included and valued.

3. Manchester and Stockport Newsletter

Manchester and Stockport have gone the extra mile and have created their own newsletter to be shared within their houses. The newsletter shares good news stories of the people they support.  The people we support have really enjoyed seeing themselves in the newsletter and have liked seeing all of the good news stories and recognising their friends. The newsletter will increase connections between houses which will in turn will provide socialising opportunities where friendships and relationships can develop.

4. Gemma Volunteering at the RSPCA

Gemma expressed that she would like to get a volunteering role. Staff were responsive and supported Gemma to complete her application form to volunteer at RSPCA. Staff supported Gemma at her interview. The interview went really well and Gemma was offered 3 days per week starting this month. Gemma was over the moon and is looking forward to starting. Well done Gemma!
