About the role:
The Learning & Development Manager will be responsible for leading the design and delivery of appropriate learning programmes within the organisation; ensuring that our colleagues are equipped with the skills to perform their duties. Working closely with the HR & Operations function, they will design and implement an effective L&D strategy that complements our core organisational objectives and drives a culture of learning, development and continuous improvement within the organisation, including the establishment of structured career pathways and the design and delivery of robust management development programmes.
The Learning & Development Manager will be responsible for conducting training needs analyses, designing and delivering comprehensive training programs for new and existing staff, and ensuring the highest standards of quality and compliance within our services. This role is pivotal in maintaining and enhancing the skills and knowledge of our workforce to ensure exceptional values driven support to the people we support.
- Hours – Fulltime 37.5 hours p/w
- Salary – £36,000 to £40,000 p/a
- Base – Marle House, Chadderton, Oldham
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, prepare and deliver high-quality learning sessions, workshops, and tutorials in line with the curriculum requirements and the needs of individual learners, ensuring learning objectives are met.
- Develop and deliver consistently engaging and interactive sessions, utilising a variety of teaching techniques and materials to enhance learners’ understanding and engagement with the subject/topic.
- Rigorously monitor and track learners’ progress, providing regular feedback to Managers
- Collaborate with other team members to share best practices, contribute to curriculum development
- Establish and maintain a positive and inclusive learning environment, actively promoting learner participation, motivation, and confidence in professional development.
- Maintain accurate records of learners’ attendance, progress, and assessment outcomes, ensuring compliance with regulatory and internal requirements
- Stay abreast of the latest developments in the care sector and guidance changes and continuously updating own knowledge and skills
- Support achievement of Key Performance Indicators
- Lead on the development & delivery of the organisations induction programme that effectively embeds and supports colleagues into our organisation.
- Act as subject matter expert for all learning and development activity; ensuring that ways of working are consistent with current best practice.
- Drive increased utilisation of the apprenticeship levy by establishing strategic relationships with relevant learning partners, identifying opportunities to align apprenticeships with internal career pathways.
- Produce an induction training schedule for all new care staff, ensuring the content covers all mandatory courses and includes both practical and theoretical learning.
- Ensure all required equipment is available for training sessions & where possible ensure the regular servicing and maintenance of training equipment.
- Conduct and analyse Training Needs Analysis (TNA) to identify training requirements for all staff.
- Manage the e-learning function & organisations training system
- Ensure refresher training is planned and monitored on the training system
- Explore outsourced training opportunities, book relevant training sessions, and act as the main point of contact for training providers.
