Working with individuals, families/carers in the recruitment process
We also engage the individuals we support and their families/carers in the recruitment and selection process to ensure our employees have the values, skills and attitudes we are looking for and to ensure compatibility between our new recruits and the people we support.
Values Driven Staff
Our commitment to providing high quality services is shown through the enthusiasm and commitment of employees who go the extra mile to deliver personalised support to individuals, support their families/carers and their colleagues.
Research with MMU
Research was undertaken with Manchester Metropolitan University in 2018 with Dr Steven Walsh to make sure that Future Directions positive behaviour training was evidence based and person centred. The findings were published in the Learning Disability Journal. The actual research was Investigating the Impact of Staff Training in Positive Behavioural Support on Service Users Quality of Life. The findings clearly evidenced the PBS and standard of training did improve the quality of life.
Research undertaken October 2019
Congratulations on the publication of your article: A thematic analysis investigating the impact of Positive Behavioural Support (PBS) training on the lives of service providers: ‘it makes you think differently’, by R. Stephen Walsh, Brain McClean, Nancy Doyle, Suzanne Ryan, Sammy-Jo Scarbrough-Lang, Anna Rishton, Neil Dagnall, published in Frontiers in Psychology, section Organizational Psychology.
The research concluded that PBS training does have a positive impact on the lives of the people supported and the staff.
